The series, Artificial Flavoring, was exhibited in Art Fair Philippines, 2024.
It is part of a series of works from the collective called “ Manila Illustration Fair.” Here in this exhibit, we question the role of illustration in fine art, and how the act of illustrating is a visual medium that encompasses different forms, objects, shape, texture, and fabric.
Artificial Flavoring 🌀💥🌈
Born out of enticing plastic treats I would play with, I wanted to create a toybox overwhelming to the senses, an explosion of childhood nostalgia and memories. Maximalist in textures, colors, shape, and form, it is my ode to our culture and its tendencies to fill up space with objects that hold sentimental value.
